PRIVACY

I can see your screen.
Here is exactly what leaves it.

Seeing your session and hearing your audio is the product. That is why this page is specific instead of reassuring: a list of what travels, a list of what never does, and what happens to both.

HOW IT WORKS TODAY · LEGAL WORDING IN REVIEW

This page describes exactly what Miles does with your data today, in plain language. The formal policy document, with the legal wording and the named list of processors, is still being written and reviewed. If the two ever disagree, this page is the one that gets fixed first. Questions in the meantime: help@miles.audio.

SENT

What leaves your machine

While a conversation is open, only these. One more travels when you finish an Ear Gym set.

  • The bounce you are asking about

When you ask a question about your track, Miles sends that bounce. Not your project, not your samples folder, not the other songs on your disk. The one piece of audio the question is about.

  • A still of your DAW window, when the question needs eyes

When you ask something Miles has to look at, it takes one still of your DAW window, that window only, at the moment you ask, and sends it with the question. One frame, one window, one question: there is no video, no continuous capture, and nothing is taken while you are not asking. The still is never written to your disk and it is not kept in your history.

  • Session context, as text

Track names, which tracks are muted or soloed, tempo, key, the device open in front of you. It reads like a list, because that is what it is. It is what lets Miles say the top loop has been muted for an hour.

  • The names of the plugins you own

The scan that finds them runs on your machine, but the list it produces travels: the names go out with every message, so an answer can never point you at something you do not have. Names only. Not your presets, not your projects, not what you did with any of them.

  • What you type

Your side of the conversation, so there can be an answer to it.

  • The time on your clock

Which hour it is where you are, so late can mean late. Not the minute, not the date, not your time zone, not your location.

  • One fingerprint of your machine

A scrambled version of your computer's hardware id, made on your machine before anything is sent. It is how a free plan can count without an account. It cannot be turned back into your machine, your name or your address, and it is not used to follow you anywhere.

  • Your Ear Gym scores, once you are signed in

Your results travel and they are kept, tied to your account, so your streak and your weak bands survive a reinstall and follow you to another machine. What is kept is which band played, what you answered and how long you took. It is training data about you, for you, and it is not sold, shared, or used to train anything. Play without signing in and the results wait on this machine until you do.

NEVER

What never leaves it

Not settings you have to find and switch off. Things Miles does not do.

  • A recording of your screen

There is no screen recording and no continuous capture. Miles has no video of your desktop, and it takes nothing at all while a question is not being asked.

  • Anything outside your DAW window

The still is cropped to the one DAW window before it goes anywhere. Your browser, your messages, your other windows are never in it.

  • Your screen when the eye is off

Turn the eye off and neither the picture nor the screen context leaves at all. It is one switch, it is in front of you, and it takes effect on the very next question.

  • The still, anywhere on your disk

The frame lives for the length of one request and then it is gone. It is not saved next to your conversation, not cached in a folder you would have to find, and not attached to your history.

  • Your audio files

The audio on your disk is yours and stays there. Your samples, your stems, your unreleased tracks, the folder you never cleaned up. Only the bounce attached to a question moves, and only in that moment.

  • The list of your projects

Miles does not inventory your work. What you are making, how many songs you have, what they are called: none of it is collected or sent.

  • Anything in the background

Miles transmits when you ask a question and when you finish an Ear Gym set, and at no other time. There is no background listening, no idle upload, no telemetry loop that hums along while you work.

  • A report about you, to anyone watching

Miles carries no analytics kit, no crash reporter of its own and no usage telemetry. There is no measuring library inside the app at all, which is a stronger promise than a switch that turns one off.

LOCAL

What happens on your machine

The work that would need your files does not travel to the files. It runs where they already are.

  • Watching your session

Miles follows your DAW window where it is, on your machine, which is how it can point at a corner of your screen and say drag this left. Watching is local. The one still it sends when a question needs eyes is in the sent list, by name.

  • Scanning your plugin folder

The scan itself runs here and reads nothing but names, so nobody has to send a folder anywhere to find out what you own. The list of names it produces does travel with your messages, which is why it is in the sent list too. It is not a shopping profile and it is not sold, shared, or used to sell you anything.

  • Playing Ear Gym

The sounds, the rounds and the read out you get after each answer are made on your machine, so a workout needs no network at all. What travels is the result, and it is in the sent list by name.

Your audio is never training material

Nothing you send is used to train a model, improve a model, or teach anything to anyone. Not your bounces, not your questions, not your sessions. This is not a setting buried in an account page with a default we quietly chose for you. There is no such setting, because there is no such use.

Your music is also not for sale. It is not licensed, resold, packaged into a dataset, or handed to a partner. An unreleased track stays unreleased.

A bounce you ask about is not stored at all

The audio attached to a question is read while the answer is being written, and then it is gone. It is not filed next to your conversation, because there is no file.

The only audio kept anywhere is a bounce you deliberately share with a friend. That one is stored so your friend can play it, in a private place that only a signed link reaches, and it dies within 7 days whether you touch it or not. It is not public, it is not listed anywhere, and the only code that can reach it is ours.

How you get it deleted

Write to us and everything tied to your account goes: your Ear Gym record, your shares and the files behind them, your counters. One message, no form to find, no reason to give, and it is done within 7 days of your writing.

A one action delete button is on our list to build, and this paragraph changes the day it ships. Until then the address is the way: help@miles.audio.

Sending a track to a friend

Friends links are temporary by design. A link you create dies on its own within 7 days, and 7 days is also the longest life you can give one: you can ask for less, never for more. You can kill it earlier with one action, and once it is dead it cannot be revived, on purpose: a revoked link that could come back is not a revoked link.

When a link expires or is revoked, the shared file is removed, not just hidden. Friends is a file, a temporary link and a few comments. It is not a social network: there are no profiles, no followers, no feed, and there is no plan for one.

This website tracks nothing

No analytics, no advertising pixels, no session recorder, no cookie for any of the above. There is no consent banner here because there is nothing to consent to.

Even the fonts are ours. The typefaces on this page are served from this domain, not from a font network, so loading this page does not tell a third party that you were here. This site loads no file from any other domain, and a check on every build keeps it that way.

Your rights

Access, correction, export, deletion and objection. You can use all of them, and using them costs you nothing and changes nothing about how Miles treats you.

Today each one of them starts with a message to us, because the buttons that would do it without us are not built yet. Write to help@miles.audio and it is done within 7 days.
