VIXSOUND does work inside Ableton: it generates MIDI, splits stems into tracks, loads instruments, wires up compressors and takes voice commands, all in its own words. Miles does none of that. It measures the audio coming out of your machine while it plays and reads your set without writing to it. Two ends of the same DAW, and neither one does the other's job.

The line
VIXSOUND performs. You describe an action and the session changes: MIDI arrives, stems land on tracks, a compressor gets inserted with its sidechain wired.
Miles observes. It measures loudness, true peak, key and chord off the audio leaving your machine, twice a second, locally, and reads your Live set through a bridge with no write path. Nothing in your set moves.
The honest way to put it: one of these is a pair of hands, the other is a pair of ears. Wanting both is normal. Expecting one to be the other is where people end up disappointed with whichever they bought.

Where VIXSOUND is the better choice
If you want the session to change, VIXSOUND is built for it and Miles is not.
Ask for a drum pattern, stems on four tracks, an instrument loaded, a sidechain wired, or any of it by voice, and Miles cannot do a single one of those things. It has no write path into your set. VIXSOUND describes all of them on its own page, quoted above.
Miles answers a different question: what is actually coming out, right now, as a number.
Where the difference bites
A generated bassline that sits perfectly in the piano roll can still collapse in mono, still push the master over true peak, and still fight the kick in a band no one is looking at. That is not a flaw in the tool that generated it. Generating and measuring are separate jobs, and the second one only exists after the audio does.
That is the whole reason Miles is on the output rather than in the session.
Questions
Is Miles a VIXSOUND alternative?
Not for the things VIXSOUND is for. It does not generate MIDI, split stems, load instruments, insert devices or take voice commands, and it is not going to start. If you are shopping for those, this is the wrong page and we would rather say so than sell you a mismatch.
Does VIXSOUND listen to my mix while it plays?
Their page describes analysis you ask for about a clip, not continuous listening, and we found no claim of continuous measurement as of 26 August 2026. That row says untested here rather than No, because an absent claim is not a denial.
Which Ableton versions do they cover?
Their own line is Ableton Live 11 and Live 12, both Standard and Suite. Miles has been measured in Live 12 only, so Live 11 is untested here. That is a row where their published coverage is wider than our measured coverage.
Can I run both at once?
Miles never writes into your set, so it cannot fight a tool that does. We have not run them together, so anything beyond that is untested here.
Which one changes my project?
VIXSOUND does, in its own words: MIDI lands, stems land, devices get inserted and wired. Miles does not, by design: the bridge it reads through has no write path, so there is nothing for it to change.
